Perplexity visibility describes how a business or page appears in Perplexity’s answers and linked sources. Evaluate whether the response represents the business accurately, which URL is cited and whether it leads to useful content. An appearance is not the same as a visit or qualified enquiry.
Perplexity documents PerplexityBot for search discovery and a separate Perplexity-User agent for user-requested access. Review current robots and firewall guidance for the intended access policy. Allowing a legitimate crawler to reach a page does not guarantee that the page will be selected for a particular answer.
Example
For example, a business can check access logs for verified crawler activity, inspect an observed citation and review identifiable referrals. These are separate pieces of evidence; none should be presented alone as proof of a new customer or a permanent ranking.
