Formula and assumptions

  • The score uses weighted inputs across GBP completeness, reviews, citations, local pages, local links, and tracking.
  • The final score is directional and should be treated as a prioritization tool.

Assumptions

  • This is a directional score, not a direct Google ranking factor.
  • Google describes local ranking around relevance, distance, and prominence.
  • Scores should be validated with real local rank tracking, Google Business Profile performance, calls, and leads.

Model details and limits

  • This is TheoryPixel’s internal readiness rubric, not an official Google score, ranking prediction or percentage chance of ranking. Distance and competitor strength are not inputs. Tracking readiness helps measurement and is not presented as a direct ranking factor.
  • Maximum points are GBP completeness 20, review count 15, rating 15, review frequency 10, citation consistency 10, local pages 12, local links 10 and tracking 8. Review-count points stop increasing at 100 reviews; rating points scale from 0 to 5 stars.
  • Yes/partial/no awards full/half/zero points for GBP, citations, pages and tracking. Weekly/monthly/rare review frequency awards 10/6/2 points. Many/few/no local links awards 10/5/0. Scores of 80 or more are Strong, 60–79.99 Moderate, and below 60 Needs work. The display rounds the score; the grade uses the unrounded value.

Worked example

The default partially complete profile gets 10 points; 25 reviews earn 3.75 and a 4.6 rating earns 13.8. Monthly reviews add 6, partial citations 5, partial local pages 6, a few local links 5 and partial tracking 4: 53.55 total, displayed as 54/100 with a Needs work grade.

How to interpret your result

A low score usually means foundational local SEO work is needed. A medium score suggests optimization and consistency issues. A high score means the next opportunity may be content depth, links, competitive review growth, and conversion tracking.
