A website redesign or CRO project should be evaluated by the business impact it can create. This calculator estimates the added leads, customers, revenue, and profit from improving conversion rate without increasing traffic.
What this calculator does
Estimate how much additional revenue and profit could come from conversion rate improvements on your website.
How to use it
Enter current traffic, current conversion rate, target conversion rate, close rate, average customer value, gross margin, and CRO investment. The calculator estimates incremental value and ROI.
Formula and assumptions
- Current leads = monthly sessions × current conversion rate.
- Target leads = monthly sessions × target conversion rate.
- Incremental revenue = additional leads × close rate × customer value × months.
- ROI = (incremental gross profit − CRO investment) ÷ CRO investment × 100 to express ROI as a percentage.
Assumptions
- Traffic volume and traffic quality remain stable.
- Conversion improvements come from better design, copy, offer clarity, forms, trust signals, speed, and tracking.
- The calculator does not account for seasonal demand or sales capacity constraints.
Model details and limits
- The target improvement is applied immediately and held constant in every modeled month. Traffic, close rate and customer value also remain constant. There is no ramp-up, seasonality, capacity limit or uncertainty interval.
- A lower target conversion rate produces zero additional leads because this tool models positive improvement only. It does not forecast a loss scenario. Gross profit after the entered CRO investment excludes other operating expenses; ROI is expressed as a percentage.
Worked example
At 5,000 monthly sessions, moving from 3% to 5% yields 150 versus 250 monthly leads: 100 additional leads. A 20% close rate over 12 months gives 240 additional customers. At $2,500 each and 50% margin, incremental revenue is $600,000 and gross profit $300,000. After $5,000 investment, $295,000 remains, producing 5,900% modeled ROI. This large result depends entirely on sustaining the assumed uplift.

How to interpret your result
If the model shows strong impact, the next step is to identify the specific conversion barriers: weak offer, poor page structure, slow speed, unclear CTAs, form friction, or missing trust signals.
