Perceivable Content
Make essential information available in more than one sensory form.
Review images, media, color cues, contrast and text reflow in context. Provide alternatives that communicate the same purpose rather than duplicating every visual detail. Check enlarged text and narrow screens so important instructions remain readable without being clipped.
Operable Interfaces
Make the whole journey usable without a mouse.
Use the keyboard to open navigation, complete forms and operate dialogs, then verify focus remains visible and moves sensibly. Check for traps and unexpected motion. Test actual component behavior; a focus style in the design system does not prove every control is operable.
Understandable Experience
Make instructions, navigation and errors predictable.
Use clear labels and consistent placement for repeated controls. Tell users what information a form requires before submission and how to correct an error afterward. Keep important instructions in visible text rather than relying only on placeholders, color or icons.
Robust Markup
Use semantics and accessible component behavior.
Inspect headings, landmarks, buttons, links and form controls, then test meaningful names and states with assistive technology. Review dynamic status updates and avoid nested interactive elements. Combine automated scans with manual checks because many usability failures require human judgment.
Forms and CTAs
Test the form from instruction through confirmation.
Confirm every input has an associated label and required fields are understandable. Trigger errors deliberately and verify that people can locate and correct them. Test keyboard and mobile completion, including the final success message and any change of focus.
Process and Governance
Treat accessibility as a continuing maintenance responsibility.
Assign owners for known issues and include checks in design, development and content review. Retest shared components after changes and document remaining limitations. This practical checklist supports an audit process; completing it alone does not establish full WCAG conformance or legal compliance.
